about the plant.
Every mammal possesses an endocannabinoid system — a network of receptors first described in the early 1990s. Plant-derived phytocannabinoids bind to these receptors. The biochemistry is well-established in the scientific literature.
CB1 and CB2 receptors are distributed throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems. CBD binds indirectly to these receptors. It does not produce psychoactive effects.
Full-spectrum extracts preserve the complete profile of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in the plant, rather than isolating a single compound. Scientific literature describes this under the term "entourage effect"; we leave the research to researchers.
